Check out these <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chiff.com\/a\/fall-foliage.htm\">Fall Foliage Photo Tutorials<\/a> for advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zone 1:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/acad\/index.htm\">Acadia National Park, ME<\/a> \u2014 According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitacadia.com\/leaf-peeping\/\">visitacadia.com<\/a>, the crisp autumn air is perfect for \u201cleaf-peeping,\u201d with the foliage show usually peaking between October 13\u201322. The park has more than 120 miles of historic hiking trails, providing the perfect way to get up close to the colorful exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zone 2:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/biso\/index.htm\">Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, KY<\/a> \u2014 Head to Big South Fork in mid-to-late October to see the sumac, red maples, burgundy sweetgum, and tulip poplar put on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/biso\/learn\/news\/big-south-fork-national-river-and-recreation-area-welcomes-everyone-back.htm\">fall finery<\/a>. The Kentucky portion of the Big South Fork includes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/biso\/planyourvisit\/kytrails.htm\">five hiking trails<\/a>, allowing you to view the changing colors up close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zone 3:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/shen\/index.htm\">Shenandoah National Park, VA<\/a> \u2014 With more than 200,000 acres of protected lands and over 500 miles of hiking trails, Shenandoah National Park offers a range of visitor opportunities, especially in mid-to-late October when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/shen\/learn\/nature\/treesandshrubs.htm\">red-brown oaks, brilliant yellow birches and poplars, and the red and orange black gum sumac, maples, and Virginia creeper<\/a> respond to the changing season. Plan your visit from early September to mid-October for the best views at Fort Ransom and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtourism.com\/best-places\/best-places-view-fall-foliage-north-dakota\">other 11 locations<\/a> throughout the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zone 5:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelok.com\/state-parks\/boiling-springs-state-park\">Boiling Springs State Park, OK<\/a> \u2014 Boiling Springs State Park is just one of 14 spectacular fall foliage drives that await you when you visit Oklahoma in the autumn. Boiling Springs\u2019 hardwood trees typically change colors starting the last week of October through the first week of November, with the main picnic area south of Lake Shaul and on the Scout Trail a prime viewing spot. For the best views, check out Hoh Rainforest on one of the Hall of Mosses trails, along the Quinault River through the Quinault Rainforest, Hurricane Ridge Road, or Highway 101 between Forks and Lake Crescent, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myolympicpark.com\/park\/weather-seasons\/autumn\/\">Olympic National Park Trips<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zone 7: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visitinglaketahoe.com\/\">Lake Tahoe, CA<\/a> \u2014 According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laketahoe.com\/top-10-places-to-enjoy-fall-foliage-in-lake-tahoe\">LakeTahoe.com<\/a>, the area\u2019s Quaking Aspen and Cottonwood trees are the highlights of fall foliage.
